Sunrise

Everything around us was awakening.  The birds chirped as the city workers went about their early morning jobs. getting ready for all who would visit Charleston for the day. The  sun was rising casting a warm golden glow over the water. First day of shrimp season in the lowcountry.  Time for this carolina girl to look up the phone number for her shrimper.....the one who sells the sweetest shrimp around!

One Carolina Girl

Shaking the sand off my toes I walked to the end of the pier.  Small boats anchored just offshore, had come to  listen to the music. One large sail boat slowly drifted towards the dock dropping it's anchor as it gently rocked in the shallow water.  Looking back towards the Charleston Harbor Resort I could see hundreds of people of all ages as they made their way across the boardwalk to the food and tiki bars.  Party girls carried trays filled with samples of Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka and Captain Morgan Spiced Rum. The sun was just starting to set over the harbor casting hues of yellows, reds, and oranges.  Time for this Carolina Girl to go join the party!
